SUMMARY:Chamber Connect: Rogers
DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we introduce Chamber Connect: Rogers!\n\n\n\nStrategies for Smart Giving: When to Say "Yes" and How to Say "No"\n\nTuesday\, April 30\, 2013\n\n8 am to 9 am\n\n\n\nThis is a free event!\n\n\n\nStrategies for Smart Giving is an interactive one-hour program designed to help our Members be more strategic about their charitable donations. The program's facilitator\, Jackie Reis\, will present and discuss a number of tools businesses can use to put structure to their giving and help them learn when to say "yes" and how to say "no" to the numerous requests they get from community groups seeking their support.\n\n\n\nIn today's economic climate\, having a thoughtful plan for community giving is even more important. Your member business might have fewer resources to contribute\, while at the same time the requests for help are growing. They are committed to making your community a healthy and strong place for their employees and neighbors\, but know they can't respond to each and every request. Help your local businesses out by offering them a workshop to define their giving plan!\n\n \n\nThe goals for this workshop are to give participants:\n\n\n	\n The framework for a giving plan that will help them be more strategic about their giving \n	\n Tools to help implement that plan\, and \n	\n An opportunity to share experiences and best practices with their business colleagues\n\n\n\nAt the workshop participants will receive an electronic copy of the Minnesota Business Giving and Community Involvement Workbook. Using forms from the workbook\, they will leave with the outline of a giving plan\, including goals and criteria for giving\, contributions policies and procedures\, and suggestions for an effective decision-making process.\n\n\n\nThis program is part of Minnesota Business Gives\, an effort by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to motivate\, educate\, and recognize local businesses for the valuable contributions they make to their communities. Business Gives is a partnership between the Minnesota Chamber and local chambers throughout the state.
