DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the Fifth Annual First Responders Luncheon.\n\n\n\nTICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY and will be held at the door.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.\n\n\n\nRegistration begins at 10:45 AM\, so please arrive promptly. Lunch begins at 11 AM\, and the program begins promptly at 11:30 AM. \n\n\n\nThe Fifth Annual First Responders Luncheon serves to honor our communities' police officers\, fire fighters\, EMS personnel\, and other individuals who have provided exceptional response in an emergency situation. We invite you to join us in appreciation and support of the outstanding performance of our local heroes.\n\n\n\nWe are honored to have Leah Beno from Fox 9 News Emcee the event.  Our keynote speakers are Deborah Montgomery and Shawn Matthews. \n\n\n\nDeborah Montgomery was the first African American female police officer hired on the St. Paul Police Department in the 1970's where she served for 28 years. Additionally\, she was the first female African American St. Paul City Council Member\, the first African American to graduate from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs\, and the first of two to graduate from St. Thomas with a Master's in public safety and law enforcement leadership in 1980.\n\n\n\nShawn Matthews is the wife of Officer Bill Matthews killed in the line of duty last year.  She will tell you how LEMA supported and helped her family.\n\n\n\n50% of the proceeds benefit Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Association (MFFMA) AND Law Enforcement Memorial Association (LEMA).
