Preparation helps family businesses survive across generations. Only 30 percent of family businesses survive into the second generation and only 12 percent are still viable into the third.
Learn what you should be thinking about as your company prepares for the transition of ownership. Join us Thursday, August 21, from 8-9 a.m. at the Country Inn and Suites in Albertville, as Ritch Sorenson, a family business professor at the University of St. Thomas, gives a presentation about succession in family businesses. Sorenson is the academic director of the St. Thomas Family Business Center, the only family business center in Minnesota.
He will discuss the important issues to consider related to:
- estate planning
- next generation owners
- family business leaders

Chamber Connect: Around the Region is a fun and informal networking group open to all Members of the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce.
Meetings usually include networking and a continental breakfast, followed by introductions and time to exchange business leads and information.
