Carl Kuhl, Connolly Kuhl Group
Business in Public Policy & Politics – Hubert Humphrey once said “Government will either to things to you or for you, but its gonna do something.” Minnesota’s business community knows this all too well, our federal, state and local governments are generally doing something “to you.” We’ll examine how our government makes decisions and how you can become an effective advocate for your business and Minnesota’s business climate.
Communications Breakthrough (9am to 10am)
Adam Thompson, FocalPoint
In any professional or personal relationship, effective communication is key to success, and effective communication starts, and ends, with non-verbal communication. In Communications Breakthrough, we will study the four main behavioral and communications styles that exist, and how to identify them in individuals based on visual cues, the environment around you, and other non-verbal clues. You will learn how people who fall into the various styles communicate, and how they prefer to be communicated to. Knowing your style and recognizing the styles of those around you is key to improving your leadership, management and sales skills; Communications Breakthrough will help you develop that skill.
